My I-485 case has been transferred from Texas center to Nebraska and notice says it's for faster processing. My priority date is Nov 2003, EB3 category, indian national. I didn't expect they would be looking at my case now. Why would they transfer it? has anyone received any such notice?

Hello,
We have our 485 interview's next week @ the Baltimore Field Office. My PD is current for EB-2. My case is pretty straightforward so hopefully should not be a issue.
Would appreciate any comments from folks in MD who have been interviewed @ the Fallon Federal Building in downtown.

Particularly - can they approve our cases right there & then.? Will they stamp our passports for approval since PD is current for January 2011.? Can there be any issued with visa number not available, etc. ?

Any advice is appreciated.

USCIS has released figures from the first week of the H-1B season and filings for the 65,000 H-1B "regular" cap slots for the fiscal year that begins in October were just 13,500. That is less than one third of the 42,000+ received during the same period last year and only about one-tenth of the number filed two years ago. Only 5,600 masters cap applications were filed against the 20,000 cap in that category.

I had a H1b visa but never travelled to US.My visa got cancelled without prejudice when i left the organization.My new employer filed l1b individual on my behalf.i129 was denied by uscis stating that i am a skilled worker but do not possess specialized knowledge.Moreover the position in US is that of a software engineer & does not require any specialized knowledge.Please note that I hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree(BE) in Electronics & Telecommunications with about 5 years of IT experience.

* Does this mean my visa is denied?
* What options do i have next?
* Will this affect my further applications?

My wife will be coming back from India during first week of Dec thru IAD. She has some type of infection in few of her fingers with few blisters. I am worried her fingerprinting at POE may not work and may show an error. Has anyone encountered this issue ever? Do they capture all 10 fingers? Her infection is only in few fingers.
