I have to descent from the mass and say I was not impressed by the Keynote. What the hell is with Safari still having the brushed metal interface, as well as the finder, etc...
I thought they were finally going to get rid of that and get some consistency in their GUI.
Did you stop to think for just a second that Apple is not showing the new Finder yet, and that the Finder included with Leopard right now is the Tiger one?

I'm curious. Just how "slow" (transfer speed) is the wireless on Zune?

See this - the price of the spec I want in US Dollars, when converted to British Pounds, is...1337!
:D I like that!
I love Intel's naming scheme right now, how there's the Core 2 Duo for the desktop, and the...Core 2 Duo for notebooks...which are the same, but slightly different...and they both follow on from the Core Solo and Duo...which aren't actually Core processors...*headexplodes*
Bring on Merom MBP's! Then get them preloaded with Leopard before the end of February so I can still get it all before I graduate and get edu discount! :D

Why doesn't adobe fix flash on the mac before they complain about not being able to work on the iphone?

As long as CS5 works with Lion I'll be happy. Updating Adobe and Maya get expensive for someone like me who is a hobbyist game developer. That is roughly $3400k anytime I have to update my workflow. Thank goodness ZBrush updates are free :D

You really think less than 50% of gun violence is committed by black men in those countries? You might want to go look at the demographics of those countries.
Why does gun violence effect the black communities? Prejudice, poverty and lack of access to societal goods others have among many other reasons.
.
London: Over half of gun crimes committed by black men, only 12% of the population
and you might want to read the title of the thread perhaps?
I guess Americans are more obsessed with race than Europeans....

I recently read an article that outlined the orchestration of product release by Apple. In a nutshell, Apple does't want to release too many products in one setting because 1. each new release potentially overshadows the next 2. media buzz will die down in a couple weeks. Apple wants to keep their name in the news as much as possible so they make major announcements, in drips and drabs. Of course this may or may not apply to this new event, but i would speculate that they would not release a new iPod and a 23" iMac in the same event. Apple depends on maximum buzz with the release of the new iPods and I don't think they would take the shance that a new iMac would overshadow it completely. Thoughts?

Slap a Core 2 Duo in it, bump it up to a 15 or 15.4 inch screen and watch it become Apples best selling notebook ever.
:)
NOOOOO. not unless they come out with a 12" model in this new line of yours. some of us want our laptops truly portable!
impatiently waiting for my c2d macbook........

^ Best thought out post in this whole thread. This is exactly how i feel, and i also think it extends to black communities in other countries.

Although they did give all the developers who 'rented' the 'Intel Development Kit' from WWDC '05 a Intel iMac when they were released in January. ;)
Also, kids, this is what we should be discussing:
True, but I think that was because it was the only shipping intel machine apple was shipping. Not for any other reason.

I have a question.... what time does Apple release things, like Cupertino time??? I believe I heard it was nine, and if it is, then we still got another two hours of waiting
Exactly what I was saying. Apple is based in Cupertino, California. It's not even 8 am here yet. Usually stuff happens between 9am-12pm

Yep. Hear it all the time. "Protect my family", "Keep my family safe". In other words, kill the other party so that your offspring may live. The attitude needs to change. Yugo's for everyone.
I used to hear this all the time from my ex-girlfriend. Whenever she drove her mom's expedition she'd claim that she "felt so safe".
Compensating for poor driving skills with the consumer equivalent of a tank.

This would be a huge announcement if it comes in the next week or two. What a great way to get everyone talking about the iPod during the holiday shopping season.
The Beatles albums will sell... but more importantly, they will sell iPods.

I sure hope my college gives out free upgrades like they did with XP Pro, because $239 is a LOT to spend on an OS!
(and no, after the DLhell from doing an upgrade from 98 to XP, I would never go the upgrade route again)

But not widespread at all in the U.S the primary target audience of the first generation iPhone.
It's a pipedream to expect that (LTE) 4G would be widespread in the US even in a year from now. 3G was more widespread at the time of launch of the first Iphone was way more widespread.
