You can only stay in the US if you can change to another lawful status. As a UK citizen, the only work-authorized status that might be available, though difficult, is O-1 for extraordinary ability aliens. If the company won't start the permanent residence process for you, unfortunately you have very limited options.

Has anyone seen this pattern before for any service center? A "processing times" entry missing? Could this be just an accident, or are they sending the I-140's to another service center? This could mean a LOT to people who sent their I-140's and I-485's concurrently to TSC.

My husband has 7 words in his name on passport. When we went for Driving licence they took a part of that whole name and issued the licence. But even the last name and first are totally changed now.
How can we change his long name to short by taking only two words from 7. Does it come under Name change case or any other procedure.
Please let me know.

I am currently starting a language institute in California. I incorporated the organization 2 years ago, but I am starting it now. I want to hire a Brazilian national on an h2b visa to teach Portuguese but I am worried that as I am starting the business now and haven't generated income yet I won't be allowed to hire this teacher. Is this something I should worry about? Thank you for any help. I appreciate it.

Spouse currently on EAD travelling on AP.
Her H1 is expiring soon.
Will there be any issues while comming back to USA if the H1 gets expired?
(not interested in maintaining the H1 as she is not primary)

I am in L2 visa right now and I have an EAD to work. I got a job that I need to start on oct 01.
My spouse status will change from L1 to H1B from oct 01, as his employer filled for H1B.
Our L1 & L2 are valid until Aug 2011.
I don't have H4 yet.
What are the various options available for me to work?
1. Can I use my EAD to work which is valid until aug 2011?
2. Can I apply for H1B for me? If yes when I can start working with my H1B.
3. Is there is any way to maintain my husband L1 status until it's validity(Aug 2011) and then switching to H1B after L1 expires?

New filing fees were applicable from 7/30. Do all applications(485/131/765) whose PD is current need to filed with the new fees starting from 7/30? Or till 8/17 it can be filed with the old fees?

i believe PD is mentioned only on 140, it will not be mentioned on 485.

Employer A - LC applied in Dec 07, Currently on 7th year extension till Jan 2010. Stamped visa.
Employer B wishes to recruit me by transfer H1-B and utilize recapture time. The total time they would get is till Apr 2010 (which includes recpature time) along with 7th year I-797.
Employer B wishes to file LC 1 month after I join them.
Assuming that I join them by end of Dec 2009, I have the following questions about my H1-B extension
Lets consider Dec 30th as the date to start the LC application.
What I understand is that based on the LC from Employer B,
Can I get extension on my H1-B beyond APR 2010.
for 1 yr - Based on LC from employer B being pending/approved until Apr 2010
for 3 yr - Based on LC from employer B being approved and I-140 approved.
Apply for premium processing of I-140 before 60 days of Apr 2010 if LC is approved and I-140 is pending.

My parents-in-law visited the USA in the last week on B1/B2 visa. At the port of entry the immigration officer marked the expiration date on I-94 for my father-in-law for 6 months and however did not mark the expiry date on my mother-in-law�s I-94.
As they are visiting first time they did not know the procedure and they could not bought this to the immigration officer�s attention before they left ?
I assume they entered the expiry date in the system for my mother-in-law since both applications were processed at the same time with the same officer.
How this can be fixed ?
Is there any way I can call DHS and confirm the I-94 expiry date in the system ?
