I would like to register my protest with you for not following an orderly method when approving I-485 applications. In the last two months, while the priority dates were current for several applicants from India in the EB2 category, the applications with later priority dates and later receipt dates got their I-485 approved by USICS. This has generated a great anxiety among those who have been waiting patiently in the line before them.
I being one such affected person, is sending you this letter with a ???? as a symbol of my protest and hope that USCIS will deal fairly with all the applicants in the order of priority and receipt dates of their I-485 applications.

You make it sound like they care about you and are doing this slowly to get everybody on board, sorry to burst the bubble but chances are they were able to apply the right pressure at the right places and get this passed.
Fashion models and Sport personnel and EB-5 folks are few in numbers and will go unnoticed by their constituents. Other EB categories are comparatively huge. So I suppose that congress is treading carefully. If the bills does not go though the subcommittee and full ones, opponents will debate that the bill was sneaked in or piggy backed or pushed through. Hopefully something will emerge before the presidential elections. Lets not loose hope and try our best. Anything after the elections will be bound to be bogged down by CIR...

3. The ride may be free but it has cost us $2200 per bus so any contribution to IV is appreciated.

I would suggest to meet your local Senator and pursue your case. Age-out is the genuine problem and I believe no lawmaker will deny to help in age-out case for legals. Only thing you need to pursue them how monster of retrogression is killing kids of legals with age-out weapon!

None of the bills being considered currently benefit children of would-be legal immigrants, while the children of illegal immigrants are protected by the proposed DREAM ACT. Please write to senators and house representatives highlighting the "age-out" problem.

Yes, if we do not do anything, then yes, we will only get our GC's as per the calculator- which is 2024 and beyond. If we want it earlier, we need to educate: Get vocal: Vocal about reforming employment based immigration laws. Lobby the government: (which means we need to contribute money to IV to make a war-chest- to pay the lobbyist.), Get noticed: Which means we have to meet our lawmakers.

Sen. Majority Leader Bill Frist, frustrated by the sluggish debate over immigration reform at the committee level, plans to introduce a bill that deals solely with border security as early as today.....
Republican aides say the move by Mr. Frist is not meant to trump similar legislation offered by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter, Pennsylvania Republican, but rather as an "insurance policy" to ensure the topic is addressed.
Mr. Frist's bill, according to aides, would simply take Mr. Specter's proposal and strip out the guest worker plan and provisions dealing with illegal aliens already in the U.S.
Mr. Specter's legislation has stalled in committee over his proposal to criminalize illegal aliens already here as well as other issues. Dont assume that people who gone back to India and working a manager are living happily without any issues.
One of my friends whome I used to work in 2005 was promoted to manager in 2007. Now he is in a dilemma whether to continue to go up the ladder or come back doing technical stuff. Salary wise he is not getting that much and he doesnt know how the company will do infuture. It all depends on US economy. If you are looking for 18L above salary, then it is very very tough to get a job in india.

"For last 10 years there has been no High-skilled immigration bill passed by the Congress. The world has changed in last 10 years. I understand that the Senator is a champion for creating more jobs in America. Employment based green cards will create jobs in America. I want to start my own company and hire people in America. But I cannot do that if I don't have a green card.
I would sincerely request you to please convey to the Senator if he would consider supporting some version of the immigration bill
giving more weight to green cards and creating jobs in America, or maybe the Senator could lead the effort for improving the proposal"
Please always end the call on a cordial note thanking the Staff member.

Thanks for the idea. May I request you to please inform every one here, number of hours that you can spend volunteering for IV? I ONLY contributed DOLLARS, but never contributed TIME and I feel ashamed of that. There are many people who have contributed both dollars and time.
If you promise some time volunteering to IV for all the ideas that you listed, I am PROMISING to contribute DOLLARS for you. Are you ready? If so, please send email to IV core.

Here is my point. I spend several hours 3-4 hours at least every day looking through the forum posts hoping to find ways i can contribute to efforts. There are several ideas that are generated in the forum. But cannot find out who is leading it. All i am saying is if we can have a listing of initiatives with some names associated. So i can contribute to the ones that i can support.
I am not sure if i am asking for too much here. I am not a IT guy. I do not know what it takes to post it in the front page.

I agree with the posts to a certain extent but the last time we sent mass letters only 5000 letters were collected. A couple of people were responsible for collecting 500-1000 letters each. You can caculate the percentage of letter writers of the who actually sent out the letters.
We talk about num usa etal.. bear in mind they have lots of resources and volunteers willing to call and write letters. We keep fighting about EB3 Vs EB2, red dots and green dots and other 'important' issues, very few actually make the calls. The ones who work, keep working while others demand answers as to why issues are not fixed, the rest of us just like discussing issues to death on the forums... just my 2 (pick your denomination).
Volunteers - printed thousands of letters - went to train stations, temples, public places, spent money, time, effort, stamped , enveloped - did everything they could to make the campaign a success but still there were only 5000 letters which in fact showed some results.

It is really tricky to come up with a deadline for EB employment. US is set of laws and the law is same for every one it applies. for example:If you not from a retrogressed country you will get your GC even if you start now (before enactment of this bill).
Please know the difference between bill and law. If ever this particular bill becomes law the deadline for any cases filed under previous law will not be rejected, this is as clear as mud, to make the law same for all who applied/pending /approved on the day of enactment!!.:eek:
You can refer to other lawyer's interpretations of the bill and also ask your own lawyer for more information and to better understand the harm this bill does to us.
