First of all, I am surprised to know that you have "lost" such an important paper. Keep your legal documents in good safe place, as your future stay in U.S. depends upon these.
Talk to the Student Coordinator of your university. He will be able to give you a copy.

Hi All,
Please help me with this. i came to USA on L1B visa in 2005 with 1 year petition and got extension for 2 more years i.e till feb 2008 but went to india for good in June 2007.
Again we came back with new L1B petition in Oct 2007 and got 3 years visa i.e, till Oct 2010.
1) Now if company apply for extension on L1B how many years ext i'll get?
2) Now if Company B wants to file new H1B for me, how many years of visa i'll get.
i was never on H1 before this is my first time H1B.
Please help me with this as soon as possible.

Your PD must be current and 485 filing date (which is also called RD - received date) should be close to USCIS processing times. Currently, I believe that USCIS is working on applications that it received in July 2007.
But it is USCIS :D - miracles happen!!! Last year, they approved 2006 PD cases while applicants with 2003/2004/2005 were waiting :D Good luck.

"We currently have 3,000 employees working in India," John Chambers told reporters on the sidelines of a company event.
Cisco had earlier said it would shift 20% of its top management staff across all functions to India by 2012

It has come to the attention of the Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) that due to a technical issue, a number of cases were inadvertently identified as pending PERM re-file applications and were withdrawn from the backlog. OFLC is working to rectify this situation immediately by identifying the affected cases, and reinstating them back to the appropriate processing status in proper order. This effort will be completed by November 30, 2006.
Although affected employers and their attorneys will NOT be receiving an additional notice of reinstatement, they may verify their case has been reinstated using the Public Disclosure System (PDS) starting December 1st. Since verification will be available online, employers and attorneys are requested not to contact the Backlog Elimination Centers regarding status.

Has the PERM Processing slowed down? My company applied for me on March 1st and I have not heard anything till now. When I see online in tracking websites I do not see any approvals for others too. Any thoughts on whats going on friends.

I dont think I would trust your friend's cousin on that based on what I have read on here and other places. PD of aug-05 and EB3-I, I have my doubts, but if it is true, I am happy for him.

I am paranoid about losing my GC with me since I have on more than one occasion left misplaced my wallet, or left it at a restaurant, friends place, etc. Thankfully it has been returned to me with all contents intact and untouched every time. I do know that my luck will eventually run out so my question is this. Can I carry a photocopy of my GC instead and probably leave the original locked up in a firesafe at home? (I do not live in AZ, BTW)
