Hi
My Mother in law appeared at hyderabad US consulate and IO told her that she got visa but asked her to come up with new passport, becoz some letters in her current passort has faded out.
Is this happend with any one? and what we do in this situation after getting new passport?
I mean do we need another appointment or just go with new passport and drop?
Please through some thouts.

Am currently in my 7th year H1 and have got admission into a parttime MBA program!
1.) I just wanted to clarify if i can accept scholarship in form of tution waivers? (not a income?)
2.) I am aware i cannot accept any scholarships which may require me working as a TA or RA? as this is a income...
but is a non-income school sponsored tution waiver an accepectable option>
Any gurus on this board like to throw some light on this!!!:confused:

I have got an offer from 2 companies for H1 . One is from INFOREEM (NJ based) and other is AFFUEL SYSTEMS (TAMPA/Atlanta based). Can anybody please has any reviews?

Hi
I transferred my H1 to new employer and need to go for visa stamping.
I have a couple of qustions.
1.I belong to south india and my regional consulate is chennai.Can I go for calcutta consulat as I heard chennai consulate has delays in vsa processing.In such case,can I have to show any emergency proof?
2.My salary is 30k more than whatever is mentioned in petition.will it be a problem?
3.I recently heard that consulate officer is asking for contact agreement between employer and client.But in my case I have some addition layer B in between my employer A and client.So how can I provide letter.Do I need to show 2 letters.From my employer A to layer B and layer B to client?
Please respond.

Folks,
Here's one question I have which I haven't see in any forums so far (perhaps its lurking somewhere .. who knows) ... let me get to the point.
When filing for AOS/485, if the I-140 that was filed prior to filing AOS was pending and gets approved AFTER 485 was filed... should we explicitly inform USCIS that that 140 was appoved ?
I guess USCIS should have that information (of course!) but I am not sure if we should be pro-active and make sure we inform the service center that the 140 was approved ?!

Approximately how many labor applications were filed each day for EB3-India. ?
Assuming around 5-10 each day and around 300 days in a year . it would
be around 3000 . Considering that there was minor downturn in 2001-2002
year i'm assuming that Cut-Off dates should be moving faster for EB3-I.
Note: I'm in EB3 India category and trying to make a calculated guess.

Guys, I need ur suggestion and experiences on my typical situation
I am in the process of going full time with my client.
I have my I-485 Filed in July 2007 & have EAD & AP
I am not in a position to use EAD as I got married after I filed for I-485. I have to stay on H1B to maintain my wife's H4 status.
my Client's Attorney is filing for H1B transfer and is suggesting that I can use EAD to start working as soon as he files for H1B transfer.
My understanding is I will loose H1 status if I use EAD, hence H4 will be invalid.
Was anybody in a similar situation ?
I don't want to take a risk by using EAD and my wife loosing H4 status.
Please advice

If we want to find out whether USCIS will accept our applications, we have to prove that Visa #s were available on a particular day. This thread will track the 485 approvals received on or after June 28th.

I am curently on h1b visa on 7th year.My i-140 got approved 3years back and filed i-485 in 2007 and waiting for gc.Now if i switch my job to different employer using my EAD,Can my previous employer revoke my i-140 affecting my gc processing.Does he still have control to withdraw.Can you please help on this.Thanks.
Employer can withdraw anytime. But you should be OK with AC21 provisions.

I have been working as a consultant, due to the tight job market conditions I am not able to find my next contract in bay area, which was my current location when we filed I485 in Aug 2007. So, may be we got to relocate to other state say Texas. So, I was wondering what would be the impact of the move on our pending I485 applications after we change address using AR11 form. Should we avoid such move while I485 is pending?
Any Advice/Suggestions?

People suggest to work for 6 months...Remember there is no rule to work for 6 months. But just incase if somebody ask at the time of applying for citizenship, you can show that you worked for 6 months.
