I know this has been discussed in the past on this and other message boards but I wanted to hear some more opinions about it. What is the value of green card to you?
I know different ppl have different reasons like ability to switch jobs, ability to travel freely, ability to have a job for spouse etc. All said and done how many of you would like to go back to your home countries in the next 5-6 years? I know a lot of people have issues such as aging parents back home or they simply don't see themselves living in a foreign land forever. I guess my question is what percentage of ppl aspiring for a GC view it as a convenience vs percentage of ppl who actually see it as a path to settling down in US for good.

I bought a home recently in PA. All I showed are I485 receipt, expired visa on passport,employment and other proof of income . They never asked me the EAD. Loan is through BOA. Most of the immigrants maintain good credit scores so there is good chance of getting loans approved.

I can understand the excitement. I am also in EB2 2005 PD. But the fact is that, this seems like a temporary movement only...i don't think dates can stay at 2006, going by simple math.
PPl can give me those red marks, but i think dates will retrogress again by Oct.

So you are looking for motivation? Your post do not indicate that you are looking for motivation. There are those who are undecided or who cannot find enough energy/motivation to do something, and those people need motivation. You don't fall in that category. Thanks all for the updates. Also the loan agent I am working seems to understand, the underwriter is the one causing issue. I-140 approval has already been submitted along with EAD copy and I-485 receipt, Still they need the visa copy, which is expired in my case.
Will try talking to them again. I have sent an email to Bank of America customer service wiith details and hope fully they respond back.
